Privacy policy

Lune is a baby sleep app for parents and caregivers. This policy says what Lune collects, where it goes, and how to delete it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
What Lune collects
- Your account. Your first name, and if you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple assigns and the email Apple shares (usually a private relay address that hides your real one).
- Your child's profile. The name, birth date, and if you enter them, due date and gender. You enter these; Lune never asks anyone but you.
- The sleep log. Sleep and wake times, naps, night wakings, and the notes the app derives from them (patterns, plans, weekly summaries, forecast accuracy records).
- Chat. The messages you type to Lune, and a summary of your child's recent sleep that grounds the reply. Conversations are stored on your phone. Lune's server relays each exchange to Anthropic to generate the reply and does not keep the content; it keeps only a daily count of turns.
- Device tokens. The push-notification token Apple assigns your phone, so a caregiver's phone can tell the other's what happened.
- Usage and crashes. Anonymous usage events (which features get used — event names and counts only, never chat text, sleep times, or names) via PostHog, and crash reports via Sentry.
Lune has no ads, sells no data, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Where it goes
Sleep data syncs through Lune's server so every caregiver in your household sees the same night. The server runs on Vercel with a Neon database, hosted in Singapore. Chat replies are generated by Anthropic's Claude; under Anthropic's API terms this data is not used to train models. Sign-in and notifications go through Apple. Usage analytics go to PostHog (US) and crash reports to Sentry.
These six — Apple, Vercel, Neon, Anthropic, PostHog, Sentry — are the only places your data goes, and each processes it only to provide their service to Lune.
Who can see it
The caregivers in your household. Joining a household by invite shares the child's profile and sleep history with its members; that is the point of the app. Nobody outside your household sees your data.
How long it stays, and how to delete it
Your data stays while your account exists.
- Delete your account in Settings, in the app. This removes your account, sign-in, and devices from the server for good. If you are the last member of your household, every child profile and all sleep history go with it. If other caregivers remain, the household's sleep history stays with them.
- Erase all data in Settings clears this one phone and signs it out, leaving the household's data for the others.
- Export your child's sleep history any time from the child's settings page.
If anything resists deletion, or you want a copy of everything Lune holds about you, write to support@luneapp.ai and it will be handled by a person.
Children
Lune is used by adults. The data about your child is entered by you, the parent or guardian, and belongs to your household. Lune is not directed at children and has no accounts for them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change applies. The current version always lives at this address.
